TechNot: your fix does not work. I don’t have my camera plugged in, and yet it has the problem.

mark: what is the process called? There is no process called Logitech or Quickcam.

Thanks for this post! Finally, I know why my Thunderbird updates fail. I got a new Logitech camera!

Just rightclick the Logitech camera icon in the taskbar, EXIT the program and then complete the install.

Great job helping us fix the problem.

good old ctl + alt + del the Logitech + Quickcam software in the processes update and reboot good and go!!

I’ve used Thunderbird for a lot of years..but I guess now is time to follow the times..so I switched to gMail..online checking works as well (expecially on gmail )

You’d think that between the 2 propellor heads (Logitech & Mozilla) they could figure it out!

Anyway, thanks for the fix, but an even better solution is to UNPLUG the webcam, install the Thunderbird update or installer, then plug the webcam back in. No need to uninstall the webcam software.

I have the same problem with my Acer laptop’s Orbicam. It uses Logitech drivers.

I hope Logitech fix this soon.
